Pendulums

Pendulums. :D An irreplaceable divination tool on the road to awakening and especially during times of growth and uncertainty. A pendulum works with our energy and the signals received through the body from the higher self or from spirit guides as needed or preferred by your current circumstances. It can be used as a tool for psychic healing, identifying and clearing away negative energies, and locating problem areas in the body. The use of a dowsing tool (dowsing is the name for pendulum work) can be used as a guide like your best friend, helping you to understand yourself....your mind and emotions, thoughts and desires. So much and so many uses. There is extensive work and research and oodles of fantastic information out there for instruction on how to use a pendulum. The important thing to remember is that it's your tool and its attuned to your energetic needs. So find the best way for you personally.

The main thing I put focus on when building a pendulum is the energy of building ones trust in them-selves. I see the pendulum as a tool and as a catalyst to building that trust and confidence to our own deeper truths and wisdom coming from within. Sometimes we struggle to hear that inner truth when we have been taught or conditioned to believe otherwise... a pendulum can help dig up, identify,and release those deeper energies.

Some tips that have helped me...

~I like to have a particular purpose and intention for each pendulum I use. For example...I have one pendulum for all of the chakra and energy work I do. I have one I work with for my home and family life that I use to clear spaces and energies in my home and if I need to tap into some higher wisdom for help with my relational aspects. And I have a pendulum that I consult for clarity and guidance on my spiritual growth path. It is important to set an intention for the use of your pendulum, even if its an intention for guidance on everything or something special and specific.

~When I first get a new pendulum I carry it around with me for a few days or even weeks. The ones I use have a crystal point and crystals have an incredible energy signature all their own that can attune to your own energy. Its as if the crystal gets to know you personally through the energetic exchange you share. Wearing the crystal for a time and as often as you feel desire to do so allows the pendulum to attune to you...your thoughts, desires, motives, fears...And like anyone, the more it gets to know you the more accurate a reading it can give and help you understand.

~When using your pendulum you should cleanse its energy by either smudging it with sage or palos santo wood, charging it in moon or sunlight, a quick salt bath or charge on a plate or wand of selenite. This will ensure the reading is not being affected by extraneous energies from past readings.

~Program it....holding it gently by the handle and letting it swing in its own pattern without moving your hand allow the pendulum to connect and reveal its mode of communication with you. Ask it simple yes or no questions that you know the answer to...ie is my name Cate? Am I 35 years old? etc to understand how your pendulum communicates with you.

Have fun with it! Enjoy it. Get to know yourself on a whole new level. But keep in mind the blessing of the tool it is...not a parlor trick or game. When treated as such do not be surprised if it breaks on you or disappears for a little while. Treat it with the respect of a catalyst between you and the divine.
