You can’t heal until it’s real.... is something that I say often.

Why?
Because the amount of souls I see carrying so much pain and guilt and grief is so.... well painful.
In many cultures today it is seen as weakness to show emotion.
To express feelings and to admit pain.
Is it being a victim... sure
But that’s because it’s true.
Victims become victims because of things they have survived... and have had done to them.
Yes sometimes all Of these things are part of the greater plan and sometimes we even get ourselves into situations that place is in the victim role due to a lack of boundaries.
But that doesn’t make it ok for the perpetrators to take advantage.
And victim hood is real.
The ironic thing about hiding the pain and trauma under the guise of pride is that the pain will only fester and grow stronger and more real and cause an internal hell that the person has to deal with and to deal with mostly alone. Or with a stranger they pay to listen.
The reality of this has caused a rift.
People hide and stifle their pain out of shame and guilt and regret.
We walk in a very lonely world where only we know what reigns in our hearts. What goes through our minds. And what we fear and hope for.
And this loneliness. Sucks.
The disconnect is real.
And it’s eating us alive.
I say you can’t heal until it’s real because so many people have been through trauma and simply brushed it off acting like it never happened or skewing the story to save face.
I say you can’t heal because you can’t fix something you refuse to see and acknowledge.
And if you skew the real story or downplay the obvious it’s like sticking a bandaid over a rotting wound.
Healing goes deep.
It starts internally and it can’t even begin until you can be fully honest with how it really is...
So... are you ready for real?
